With a lockdown here in the UK and pretty much the rest of the world, I can imagine the excitement most of us felt when we thought about staying in our pjs and robes all day long. Well for me, that novelty wore off quite quickly, I felt myself feeling sluggish, unproductive and in a lazy state of mind. I knew if I were to maximise this whole stay at home thing I had to change my habit of staying in my pjs and ensuring I get myself ready for the day as if I were going out (Casually lol!).
I began by shopping online on some of my favourite websites (Missguided, Boohoo, ASOS & Pretty Little Thing to name a few), in hope to find something cute whilst also being ‘stay at home’ appropriate.
I envisioned purchasing something in the taupe/ brown / cream / caramel shades, as all my current items are either black, white or grey (I wanted a new look, a new vibe). After endless browsing, I found a gorgeous outfit on PrettyLittleThing.com
I am a sucker for borg crop hoodies. I purchased this cream one in a size small for £15.00. Having worn it I can confirm it is extremely easy to style, comfy, warm and super soft. I love the crop design and for me personally, hoods make an outfit, I feel they just add a little something and are so stylish and cool.
I paired this hoodie with the casual joggers in the shade Sand, costing £19.99. I bought a size 8 and they are perfect. I was surprised at how good the quality and fit are. The colour is beautiful (I received so many compliments from my contacts via social media). What I love most about these is the elasticated waistband which comes with a drawstring so they fit and accentuate your waist perfectly, they also have cuffed hem which sits nicely on trainers. I folded the hem up once so they have a shorter and tighter fit, the trainers I am wearing are the all white Adidas Continentals UK size 5.
This is beyond me but the feeling of getting myself ready just to go downstairs to my living room / kitchen area transformed my mental state. I instantly felt good within myself, happier, put together, ate healthy and was simply mentally ready for my day ahead. I absolutely adore the colour combination of this outfit, it was nice to gravitate towards some more earthy tones as opposed to my usual look.
What do you think of this outfit? What are some of your pick me ups during quarantine? I’d love to know in the comments below 😊
